A particularly tragic incident occurred on October 21st in Schmölln, when a 12-year-old student was hit by a white van while crossing a zebra crossing. The driver stopped, spoke to the girl briefly, but took no action before leaving the scene. As if that wasn't enough, he left only a hard-to-read note with a name: "Miguel" and a phone number. After arriving at school, the student informed a teacher, who promptly called the police. Fortunately, the student was only slightly injured and was taken to the hospital with her mother. But that wasn't the only incident that drew the police's attention. On Monday morning, law enforcement officers noticed property damage that had occurred to a 74-year-old's parked car in Schmölln. The car's window was damaged, a nuisance that is in the three-digit range. Here the police are also waiting for clues to find the perpetrator.

Graffiti and break-ins

There was another annoying incident in Altenburg, where the goods receipt door of a store was defaced with graffiti between Friday and Monday.
