Sylvia Most: An era of education ends in Rositz after 44 years!
After 44 years in school service, including 34 years at the state regular school "Insobeum" in Rositz, Syliva Most says goodbye to the quiet port of retirement. During her time as a teacher, she always remained true to the school and not only shaped generations of students: inside, but also the entire educational atmosphere in the region. Sylvia was not easy for the decision to leave the school as a headmistress after 16 years - after all, her commitment to education began in 1990, shortly after the turn. As lvz.de, she previously informed about a decade at Clara-Zetkin-Schule in Altenburg before she found a new home in Rositz.
During this time she moved a lot. She placed particular emphasis on the integration of pupils: inside with a handicap, which not only helped school, but also benefited the student: inside. "Insobeum" is described as a "generation school", since many grandparents of the current students: inside also went to school and a family tradition was created. During school, she taught German, history and social studies for 18 years before she was elected headmistress in 2008.
challenges in the teaching profession
But the teaching profession also brings challenges. Sylvia Most is confronted with the growing problem of bureaucracy and the different work on the new generation of teachers. The job situation is tense - 11 teachers are currently teaching at the regular school in Rositz, three of whom are sick in the long term. The shortage of teachers also affects their school, where 164 students are currently being taught in eight classes. Sylvia Most was also faced with health problems between summer 2023 and February 2024, but kept contact with the school.
"It is important to me to stay active even after my adoption," she says. From August, she plans to teach 12 hours a week and thus continue to contribute to the formation of the students. The future of "Insobeum" will be under the direction of Jens Göbel, who will take over the school management from August.
