Chaos in the Gaza Strip: Aid supplies are distributed bloody!

Gazastreifen, Palästina - In the Gaza Strip, there were fatal clashes during the distribution of UN aid goods. According to reports from the Al-Aksa-Märyrer Hospital in Deir al-Balah, two people died by crushing and two more succumbed to gunshot wounds. Several women and children were also injured in the tumultuous situation, when numerous Palestinians pushed at the main gate of a warehouse of the UN World Food program, this was confirmed by the Red Cross. In this context, Palestinians overrun on Tuesday a new distribution center in Rafah, where fences were broken and there were chaotic scenes that resulted in numerous injuries, some sources also speak of up to a handful of dead. A journalist reported on Israeli tank and rifle fire and a military helicopter that fired fluorescent rockets. It remains unclear whether the shots were given by Israeli soldiers or private security services.

This situation is part of a catastrophic humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, where the population suffers from an acute famine. According to the Gaza Humanitrian Foundation (GHF), which opened the distribution center on behalf of Israel, the supply of food and medication is severely restricted during the almost three -month blockade. UN special coordinator Sigrid Kaag compared the limited help with a lifeboat after sinking a ship, which illustrates how helpless the situation is for the 2.3 million people in the area. The UN and other aid organizations also criticize the new distribution system because it cannot meet the actual needs.

international concern and humanitarian aid

UN General Secretary António Guterres expressed great concern about the location in the Gaza Strip and warned of a threatening famine. He described this phase as the "cruelest" of the current conflict. Israel had blocked all auxiliary deliveries since the beginning of March, but recently loosened the blockade for humanitarian aid, whereby the first trucks with food and medication came into the Gaza Strip. For example, 83 trucks came across the border crossing Kerem Schalom, but Gutrees emphasizes that the 400 approved truck loads are insufficient this week to provide hundreds of thousands of people that are acute threatened by starvation. Some aids were delayed by disabilities by Hamas, which declared the new distribution mechanism as failed and called for boycott.

Israel also pursues a plan to regulate humanitarian aid that is to be implemented in several phases. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explained that in the first phase of basic foods in the Gaza Stripes, in the second phase, American companies are to open distribution centers under the protection of Israeli troops. In the third phase, the civilian population is to be evacuated from war zones. Despite these announcements, the situation on site remains confusing and shaped by violence and chaos, which stirs up fears of a new wave of flight and displacement.

The internationally increased criticism of Israel's approach is getting louder, especially in view of the ongoing air strikes on Hamas targets and the advance of Israeli ground troops. Palestinian positions reported at least 21 deaths last night. While this dramatic situation continues, the 600th day has been reminded by Hamas and other groups since the kidnapping of hostages. According to Israeli information, there are still at least 20 living hostages in the Gaza Strip.
