Safe roads for children: Police control traffic in East Hesse!

Osthessen, Deutschland - Osthessen is all about traffic safety! On Monday, the regional transport service Fulda carried out speed controls on the streets of Niesiger and Bronnzeller to focus on "weaker road users" - including pedestrians and cyclists, who are often particularly affected in the event of accidents.

actively involved in the controls involved in an extraordinary project. Fusing drivers who exceeded the permitted top speed of 30 km/h were punished with yellow cards for their ruthless behavior - a total of twelve speed offenders had to count on the consequence. Five drivers, on the other hand, who were exemplary, were awarded green cards for their security awareness. Despite a high number of role models, there were also two extreme speeds, which were measured at 21 and 24 km/h above the speed limit and thus seriously endangered the safety of the weaker road users.

The children of the Ottilienschule praised the children for their commitment and thus actively contributed to increasing traffic safety. Residents and controlled drivers also expressed positive feedback on the measures of the police who aim to raise awareness of safe driving near the school.
