On October 25, 2025, the Thuringian State Administration's education center in Gotha opened its doors to interested graduates and future career starters. The exciting one Open House, which lasted over four hours, was a complete success and attracted numerous visitors. In particular, the presence of specialist areas such as taxation, justice, local government and general administration grew into great interest.

The event was as diverse as it was informative. During the day, participants were able to gain deeper insights into the various career opportunities in individual discussions. Lectures, speed dating, quiz games and interview simulations resulted in a colorful mix of information and activities that offered interested guests a particularly practical experience.

Career opportunities in focus

A highlight of the day was the presentation of training opportunities in the Thuringian tax offices by experienced experts. In her speech, Finance Minister Katja Wolf emphasized the urgency of having well-trained young people in tax administration. Current figures prove this: 162 finance candidates have been enrolled in the tax department at the Thuringian University of Applied Sciences in Gotha since September 1st. In addition, 104 tax candidates are undergoing training at the State Finance School in Gotha.

To further excite visitors, there were interactive elements, such as the opportunity to estimate the VAT for various products or even try on a tax investigation vest and take photos. Last but not least, the participants were able to take a selfie with the Thuringian lion - fun not just for the children!
