The Gotha Stadtwerke Energie actively get involved in the energy transition and continuously work on reaching the climate goals. A remarkable project is the municipal heat plan, which, in cooperation with the city of Gotha, aims to use the green design of the district heating network. A lighthouse project that must be emphasized here is the innovative KOMPRENT-WILL MUSIC COPPLATION (IKWK) in Siebleben, the official commissioning of which is planned for August. It later supplies around 10,000 households with sustainable heat and is to provide 100% climate -friendly energy by 2045. The challenges of the energy transition

The framework conditions for energy suppliers have become more complex due to external factors such as pandemic and the Ukraine war. According to [BDEW] (https://www.bdew.de/online-magazin-zouben-zausend50/schwerpunkt risiko/daseinsororge-energieversorger-im-aufbruch/), trust in municipal companies has increased after these crises, which shows how important a stable infrastructure is in difficult times. Many people have developed a greater awareness of the importance of a reliable energy and water supply during pandemic: the trust before the crisis was 68%, it has now increased to 75%.

In response to these challenges, the Gotha Stadtwerke rely on innovative approaches and techniques in order to continue to offer their customers the best service in the future. The commitment to sustainable resources and the promotion of social, cultural and sporting projects are also part of their philosophy. With around 60 employees at Gothaer Stadtwerke Energie and another 50 at Stadtwerke Netz, the workforce is well positioned to tackle the challenges of the future.

Overall, it turns out that the Gotha Stadtwerke are not only an important basic supplier for the region, but also play a crucial role in the energy transition.
