Voluntary commitment celebrated: Prices for fire brigade and carnival in Hildburghausen!
At the yesterday's Summer Festival in the Thuringian state parliament, a special recognition for two outstanding clubs from the district of Hildburghausen took place. The CDU parliamentary group honored the Harras fire brigade association and the Römhiler Carnival Society with their honorary office. Around 200 guests came together to celebrate this festive occasion and to pay tribute to the importance of volunteering. MP Henry Worm emphasized the decisive role of the associations for the community in his speech and explained that the commitment on site is an important link in society.
The fire brigade association Harras is not only a security -related part of the region, but also actively promotes youth work and what is very important - the fire protection education. In addition, the association preserves historical fire engineering and participates in various events such as the competition "Our village has a future". A highlight is the traditional Easter fire and the sociable mulled wine market during winter.
tradition and youngsters
Another brilliant example of civic engagement is the Römhiler Carnival Society, which has been in existence for 70 years and has a proud 185 members. Society not only contributes to the cultural diversity of the district, but also attaches great importance to the youth work. Enthusiastic children and adolescents enjoy ballet courses, junior cars and show ballet. Thanks to the commitment of the members, the clubhouse is also operated, which represents an enormous voluntary performance.
Henry Worm described the clubs as shining examples of how volunteering connects and inspires people. This message is underpinned by the CDU, which has anchored volunteering as a state goal in the constitution and has passed a law to promote the volunteer. The efforts are not trivial: Over 800,000 Thuringian voluntarily get involved in society, which underlines the social strength of the region enormously. Thuringian Honorary Foundation describes the new volunteer law, which on June 7, 2024 was adopted. It not only regulates the framework conditions for voluntary work, but also includes a comprehensive state program for sustainable strengthening the engagement.
support for volunteers
under the leadership of Mario Voigt, the chairman of the state parliament CDU, a draft law was also presented that provides for greater appreciation and support for the over 750,000 volunteers in Thuringia. The measures range from financial support to discharge bureaucracy to simpler funding applications. A central element is a funding program of 15 million euros, which includes training and further education offers as well as compensation services. It is high time that the use of the volunteers is also recognized at the political level that he deserves.
The efforts also include improvements in the fire and civil protection law, such as increasing the youth flat rate for fire departments and the introduction of anniversary premiums for long-term emergency services.
In a world where volunteering is often in the background, the achievements of the two excellent clubs show how valuable and necessary voluntary commitment to the local life and that it is important to promote and appreciate it.
