Veilsdorfer Silvan Opinion surprises as runner-up in bowling!
Things got hot in Munich recently when the German Classic Bowling Championships took place. Over two days, bowlers from all over Germany fought for the coveted titles. Among them was the talented Silvan Opinioner from Veilsdorf, who achieved runner-up honors in the U23 men's age group with his strong performance. His surprising success is all the more remarkable because he has only been playing for SKV Mörfelden since last summer, which was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga, and he wanted to use the opportunity to draw attention to himself at the championships, especially because the national coaches were there and the World Cup qualification is coming up in Austria next year. According to InSuedThüringen, Opinioner was visibly surprised by this success.
The U23 final in Munich offered a thrilling duel. Gold went to Jonas Bähr from SKC Unterharmersbach with 702 pins. Silvan Opinioner secured the silver medal with 640 pins and Fabian Zimmermann, also from SKC Unterharmersbach, won the bronze with 633 pins. The final score illustrates the high level of these championships:

| 1. | Jonas Bähr (SKC Unterharmersbach) | 702 | 13 |
| 2. | Silvan Opinioner (SKV Mörfelden) | 640 | 11 |

But it wasn't just the U23 that offered exciting competitions. In the men's final, Daniel Barth from Zerbst was able to convince and secure the title of German champion with 706 pins. Second place went to Taras Elsinger (SKK Raindorf) with 669 pins, while bronze went to Manuel Lallinger (SKK Raindorf) with 664 pins. According to DKBC, these results also captivated the audience.
In the women's final, Bianca Golla (KV Liedolsheim) triumphed with 654 pins, while Alina Dollheimer and Katja Schmidt took the silver and bronze medals. A look at the event
The championships were held from June 12th to 22nd, 2025 in the Husumer SV bowling hall and attracted the best bowlers from nine federal states. A total of 18 competitions took place, with 11 involving pre-qualifications. This was also a special year, as Husumer SV celebrated its 150th anniversary and bowling in Husum celebrated its 100th anniversary, according to Sportkegeln DBKV. Such events are a true highlight in bowling and offer talents a platform to develop.
We can only hope that the successes of Silvan Opinioner and other athletes will help bring bowling even more into the spotlight among the general public.
