On Thursday morning, August 11, 2025, a serious incident occurred on the A71 motorway near Arnstadt, which could only be prevented through the courageous intervention of a truck driver. A 38-year-old driver noticed another truck whose driver was driving in a serpentine line with a blood alcohol level of 3.38 and partially strayed onto the grass verge. When he looked into the cab, the 38-year-old noticed that the 29-year-old driver appeared to be hanging unconscious over the steering wheel, causing alarming concern. The courageous truck driver didn't hesitate for long and stood in front of the other driver's tractor-trailer to get him to stop. But the drunk trucker didn't let that stop him and drove off suddenly, colliding with the truck in front of him. He finally managed to take the ignition key from the drunk driver, while two motorcyclists stood by him and helped calm the chaotic situation.
