FCN youngsters in a three-way battle: Jena, Augsburg and Regensburg are waiting!
The U23 team of 1. FC Nürnberg, under the leadership of coach Andreas Wolf, is preparing for the upcoming Regionalliga Bayern season and has already completed impressive test matches. After a convincing 7-0 win against ASV Hollfeld and a clear 5-0 win against 1. FC Kalchreuth, the next duel awaits. On Saturday, July 5th, 2025, the FCN will play against FC Carl-Zeiss Jena, who took fifth place in the Regionalliga Nordost last season. Jena has already played a friendly against TSV Aubstadt, which ended 1-1. It will be particularly exciting for Khalid El Haija, a new signing from FCN, who will now compete against his former club, where he played for nine years.
The test match will take place on the ASV Hollfeld sports grounds at 2 p.m. There is great anticipation for this match as both teams are already in great shape and preparation for the season is in full swing. While the FCN is making great strides to position itself in the regional league, Jena is aiming to improve its ranking.
Double testing on the weekend
The U19 team of 1. FC Nürnberg also has big plans and would like to build on their already strong performance of a 6-1 win against 1. SC Feucht. On Friday, July 4th, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., there will be an exciting test match against FC Augsburg, which ended the previous season tied on points with SC Freiburg at the top of the LIGA B group. Augsburg recently impressed with a 9-0 win against FC Thingau.
The test weekend ends with a game against SSV Jahn Regensburg. This game will take place on Sunday, July 6th, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Valznerweiher. Regensburg took sixth place last season, while the FCN U19s were happy with third place. In the last duels, the Nuremberg team have already achieved two wins against Regensburg, both times with a goal difference of 1:0 and 5:3.

Professional training is ensured with 46 talent bases for the age groups U12 to U15 and 16 regional youth performance centers. Thanks to this structure, talents up to the U17 age group can be specifically promoted without leaving their usual environment.
