The preparation of the huge lump is not without challenges. So the Franconian dumplings must have a longer cooking time. About 20 hours are planned, in which the dumplings in a stainless steel tank with around 3,000 liters of water. To keep the shape, the dumpling mass is filled in a stainless steel corset with a cloth. And when the dumplings are finally finished at 5:00 p.m., it will be taken out of the water with a crane.

With more than 2,000 normal Sunday dumplings, the planned amount corresponds to a colossal feast. The dumpling is served classically with sauce. Part of the proceeds from the dumpling sale will go to the "Sternstunde" benefit campaign of the Bavarian Radio. The use for a good cause makes the event all the more significant.
