In the coming weeks, the city of Eisenach is expecting numerous creative offers that promise a lot of fun, especially for young and old. The focus is on art and crafts, with calligraphy in particular enjoying great popularity.
An exciting event will take place on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, in the Wagner studio at Marienstraße 36-38. The “calligraphy trial course” is offered from 3 p.m. and lasts around 2 to 2.5 hours. Here the participants learn how to use pen, ink and paper. All materials are included in the price for just 25 euros. This course is a great way to gain confidence in technique and learn basic writing postures. Over 25 years of experience go into the course content and guarantee a high-quality introduction to calligraphy, as kalligraphie.com reports.
Creative workshops for the whole family
But that's not all. On Wednesday, July 16th, anyone interested can get creative at the “Design your own colored paper” workshop. This course also starts at 3 p.m. and also costs 25 euros including materials. A week later, on July 23rd, the course “Designing Folding Book Leporellos” will continue.
The “Paper Making” offer is particularly appealing for families and can be experienced twice on Thursday, July 17th and 24th, from 3 p.m. Preschool children can also take part here, and participation only costs 10 euros. All Wednesday courses are recommended for ages 8 and up. Registration for the workshops is required and can be done directly in the studio.
More calligraphy offers
If you would like to explore calligraphy a little more intensively, you also have the option of taking part in online courses. The website Tintenfuchs offers an exciting course on Art Nouveau writing. This will take place online via Zoom on May 15th and 16th, 2025 and costs 65 euros if you register early. Participants not only learn the basics of Art Nouveau typefaces, but also how to design their own typeface projects.
The course content is varied and includes the use of the Redis pen as well as the design of ornaments and frames. This course is an excellent choice for creatives and those who want to become creatives. Whether beginner or advanced, everyone who is interested in playing with type and design forms is welcome here.
