Cultural highlights in November: Thuringia enchants with festivals!
Something is happening in Thuringia in November! The event landscape offers a colorful range of autumnal festivals, winter productions and culinary discoveries that amaze visitors. With the Weimar Rendez-vous, the Liquid Sound Festival in Bad Sulza and the Wurstival in the German Bratwurst Museum in Mühlhausen, there is something for every taste. Gotha Current reports on these highlights and emphasizes that the selection criteria for the events are based not only on the number of visitors but also on the high demands placed on the brand ambassadors for the travel destination.
Until November 2nd, history enthusiasts still have the opportunity to visit the Weimar Rendez-vous, which takes place in Weimar, Gera, Suhl, Jena and Oßmannstedt. The Liquid Sound Festival will take place on November 1st, followed by Wurstival, which will take place in Mühlhausen from November 7th to 9th.
The anticipation of Advent
With the first days of winter, Thuringia begins to look forward to the Christmas markets, which will once again attract many visitors this winter. Castleworld announces a variety of markets that take place in enchanting old towns as well as at castles and palaces. The festively decorated markets are known for their wonderful scents of mulled wine, gingerbread and cinnamon stars. A beautifully decorated Christmas tree will be a must-have at each of these markets, while St. Nicholas and Santa Claus will delight the little ones with small gifts.
Back to the highlights of November: The St. Martin's Day festival on the cathedral square in Erfurt on November 10th brings a festive atmosphere, while the “ESSmESS X” gourmet festival on November 15th and 16th in Dermbach celebrates the culinary delights. The 19th Museum Night in Gotha is on the program on November 22nd, followed by a very special Christmas market: the 175th Erfurt Christmas Market, which is accompanied by a wide range of books, fashion, jewelry and culinary delights.
Cultural discoveries and events
But it's not just the Christmas markets that create a festive atmosphere. The Thuringia Jazz Mile, which takes place in several cities such as Weimar, Saalfeld and Erfurt until December 22nd, also promises musical diversity. And for art lovers, the exhibition “Word Worlds | Image Worlds” in Jena until September 23, 2026 is an absolute must.
From November 29th you can also experience the winter glow in the egapark Erfurt, while atmospheric lights shine on the Thüringer Bergbahn. These events clearly show how Thiuringen shines emotionally in winter and demonstrates its cultural strength even in this cold season.
