Lightning strike causes devastating fire in Voigtstedt - EUR 150,000 damage!

Trift, 06528 Voigtstedt, Deutschland - A dramatic fire shook the trifled “Trift” road in Voigstedt on Saturday evening, May 31, 2025. Shortly before 9:00 p.m., a flash hit the roof of a residential building and set fire to it. Fortunately, the five residents, including two children, could get to safety in good time and remained unharmed.

The local fire brigades from Artern, Heygendorf, Roßleben and Voigtstedt were quickly on site and fought against the flames. However, despite their courageous use, the burning of the roof structure could not be prevented. The preliminary damage amounts to around 150,000 euros. Since the house is currently uninhabitable, the residents were temporarily accommodated by helpful neighbors.
