Traffic chaos in Saalfeld: Massive road closures from Monday!
In the coming week, the traffic situation in Saalfeld and Rudolstadt will be severely affected by several construction sites and road closures. From August 18th to 22nd, various sections of the road will be closed to traffic, which could pose challenges for residents and commuters. The details are extensive and we will give you an overview of the most important points.
One of the most important measures is the complete closure of the intersection area on the B 281 between Saalfeld and the Meininger Hof intersection, which is expected to last until the end of October. Diversions are signposted, which lead via the B 85, Kaulsdorf, Probstzella, Gräfenthal, the L 1098 and back to the B 281. The L 1113 will also be closed in the Allendorf through town until the end of September; here the diversion will take place via the B 88 to Bad Blankenburg and the L 1112 to Schwarzburg.
Further closures and diversions
In addition, the L 1050 between the Teichröda exit and Heilsberg will not be passable until the end of August; Here the diversion leads via Rudolstadt and the B 85. From August 28th, the complete closure of the L 1098 from Gräfenthal to Gebersdorf until December will not only affect residents, but also the traffic exchange in the region. The diversion runs via Lichte, Piesau, the L 1152 to Spechtsbrunn and the L 1150 to Gräfenthal.
Another critical point is the complete closure of the L 2391 between Zeutsch and Beutelsdorf until September 5th. The diversion here takes place via the L 2391, Neusitz and the K 18 in Kirchhasel. The road between Cursdorf and Meuselbach will also be closed from August 18th to August 30th - the diversion leads via the L 1145 and Mellenbach-Glasbach.
Construction sites due to renovations
Furthermore, the K 147 and the K 162 are facing intensive disruption until the middle of the year: The K 147 between Wöhlsdorf and Crösten is closed until December 19th due to work on the supply and disposal lines, while the K 162 cannot be used until November 15th due to embankment renovations on the Kiesbach.
It is also particularly noteworthy that the Schwarzatal cycle path between Schwarzburg and the Schweizer Haus is closed until August 29th, as is the complete closure of the Breitscheidstrasse railway crossing in Rudolstadt, which lasts until August 20th. From August 20th, a one-way system will be implemented there and will remain in place until September 30th. An information and holiday flyer about the respective diversions and closures could be helpful in advance to avoid unpleasant surprises, especially for travelers.
