The district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen calls all hiking enthusiasts to participate in the “Hiking with others” competition. Since its first edition, the competition, which started on May 11, 2025 and runs until August 31, 2025, has been very popular. Participants have the opportunity to win monthly prices - and not only alone, but also in groups, school classes or clubs. So hiking becomes a community experience and exploring nature.

The current winners for June show the fun and success of this competition. Antonia Gräf from Kaltennordheim secured first place and thus 200 euros after she regularly hikes in the area and submitted an exciting hiking route to the Gibelchen. Her focus on nature experience not only speaks for her love of nature, but also shows how enriching hiking can be. Even the Evangelical Day Care Center "Linsenwiese" in Trusetal did not go away empty -handed. It takes second place because older children regularly explore the surroundings to promote their research spirit and their thirst for adventure.
