Demonstrations against right -wing extremism: for democracy and tolerance!

In Germany, on July 19, 2025, a strong sign against right -wing extremism is again set. Numerous demonstrations have taken place in different cities, in which tens of thousands of people take to the streets for democracy, tolerance and peaceful coexistence. The occasion of these mobilizations include the repeated hostility of right and politicization in recent years that many citizens no longer want to accept as [news.de] (https://www.news.de/politik/demos- against-rechtsextremism-heute-heut-19-2025-juli-a-fd-demonstrations-frankfurt-rostock-berlin-elmshorn/1/) reports.

Since the beginning of 2023, millions of people in Germany have participated in these protests. In particular, the AfD and possible cooperation between established parties with right -wing forces are criticized. Today's demonstration in Cologne attracted around 30,000 participants, which among other things called for a ban procedure against the AfD. Other cities, including Frankfurt, Rostock and Münster, also experienced lively rallies.

demonstrations throughout the federal territory

The protests extend over many federal states. Most of the events that took place this month were organized by local action allies that arise to protect the democratic values. In Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria and Berlin, various events were planned, which primarily aimed at a clear attitude against hatred and agitation. In Hesse, for example, people at the CSD in Frankfurt demonstrated today, while in Brandenburg and Bremen there were numerous events that also turned against right -wing extremism.

A particularly remarkable protest took place on February 8, 2025 in Munich, where over 250,000 participants were counted. The initiatives and citizens' groups see the demonstrations an important step to defend the democratic values.

Chancellor Scholz holds consultation

Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz thanked the participants of today's demonstrations in a post about short message service X. He emphasized that tens of thousands of people in Germany stand together to set a sign against racism and for a free basic order. This shows how much the topics against right -wing extremism move people, especially according to the recent research by the "Correctiv" media house, which addressed a secret meeting of right -wing extremists, in which worrying plans were discussed how [Deutschlandfunk.de] (https://www.deutschlandfunk.de/scholz-dankt- Distributor-Demonstrations- against-Rechtsextremism-104.html) reports.

This makes it clear that in the current time the cohesion and civil responsibility are very important. The social cohesion must be strengthened in order to counter intolerant and extremist currents. These demonstrations are a clear sign that the citizens stand up for their values.
