Closure of the state road: traffic will soon be rolling again in Meiningen!
The state road between the roundabout at Stillhof near Meiningen and the district of Henneberg is about to be reopened. The builders have been busy with the repairs since Tuesday, and Hagen Möller from the contracted construction company from Breitungen gives hope: If the weather is good, the work could be completed as early as Wednesday evening. This means that traffic could start moving again on Thursday morning between 7 and 8 a.m southern Thuringia reported.
The repair involves applying a special bitumen emulsion, followed by a layer of crushed stone. The builders also traditionally use brooms to smooth out the chippings in some places. A roller is then used to compact the surface to ensure a stable foundation for traffic. Important to note: Not the entire closed route will receive a new coating.
State-of-the-art materials for optimal results
The bitumen emulsion used, known as Bitufix, is a ready-to-use, highly flexible and plastic-modified solution. It was specially developed for repairing cracks and brittle asphalt surfaces. BRF chemistry emphasizes that the emulsion not only provides a non-slip surface thanks to its special adhesive strength and flexibility, but also acts as an elastic tear sealer that counteracts the penetration of water. When using it, it is important that the temperatures are above 10 °C and the surface is dry.
These modern materials extend the life of traffic areas and offer a clear advantage over traditional repair methods. Regular maintenance work is crucial to avoid damage and safety risks. How Faster Capital explains, cities benefit from cost-effective and sustainable solutions that not only increase safety but also improve the appearance of streets. Regular inspection is particularly important in order to identify possible problems at an early stage.
Looking forward to the reopening
The upcoming reopening of the state road not only promises relief for drivers, but is also a good sign for the sustainable maintenance of traffic routes in the region. Maintenance activities like these are critical to ensure the safety and durability of roads. The combination of modern technology and traditional craftsmanship shows that a good hand is demonstrated here and that the city is on the right track to sustainably maintain its infrastructure.
The coming days will show whether the construction work can be completed as planned, but the anticipation of the imminent reopening is already palpable. Another step in the right direction for the transport infrastructure in the area!
