Günther Jauch: Insight into his hidden life and winery!

Kanzem, Deutschland - Günther Jauch, the well-known moderator of the quiz show "Who will be a millionaire?", Gives rare insights into his private life and comments on his wife Thea and her four daughters. The 68-year-old TV star, who has been present on German television for over 40 years, largely keeps his family life secret. In a current conversation, he notes: "We see ourselves more as a team" and thus underlines the special connection to his wife.

The Jauch family also enjoys business success. Jauch and Thea took over the traditional Winery of Othegraven in Kanzem, which has been in seventh generation since 1805. Jauch remembers that he spent a lot of time in this place as a child before he did not return for 40 years due to his career.

a life for wine

Jauch describes itself as a "eternal winemaker trainee". He is actively involved in the day -to -day business of the winery and spends an average of one week a month there. Together with his wife, he sees himself as the "foreign office of winery". The winery maintains four layers on the Saar, which bear the quality feature "Large Location". Riesling is grown exclusively, with all wines being fermented spontaneously and experiencing longer maturation in the basement. This creates clear, precise wines with a noble, taste -fine character that have been awarded several times.

One of the special properties of the wines is that they grow in extreme stone layers, where mechanical use is not possible. These circumstances require a hand -picked selection. Jauch in particular prefers the remaining sweet cabinet wines, while two thirds of the portfolio include dry Rieslings. In a conversation, he emphasizes the meaning of giving the wines a lot of air and using large glasses to make the quality of their flavors tangible.

The Othegraven winery belongs to the national top group and is valued for the quality of its wines. Jauch was awarded the "winemaker of the year" by Vinum Weinguide in 2023. Despite his numerous successes in the wine industry, Jauch does not think of retirement. He is planning to continue actively at "Who will be a millionaire?" to stay and enjoy your versatile life.

The "House in the Park", a historic building on the winery, was modernized and is accessible for up to 50 guests, which allows visitors to enjoy the special atmosphere and the exceptional wines in the region. Jauch, who not only sees his calling in TV moderation, but also in passion for wine, thus combines his two worlds in an exciting picture of life.
