Drama and dance: Exciting productions at the Theaterhaus Jena!

A moving experience is about to happen in the cultural city of Jena: The dance theater piece “Beef” by the choreographer Andrey Kaydanovskiy takes us into the world of pop culture and thus into heartfelt conflicts, especially in hip-hop. The premiere took place on November 1st in the renowned Theaterhaus Jena and will be performed again on November 2nd. The piece plays impressively with biblical themes, using the story of Abel and Cain as its basis. The actors, dressed in black with some of their faces painted in white, intensify the artistic intensity, which erupts in a dramatic finale with a lifeless posture. Critic Edith Wolf Perez describes “Beef” as a gripping study of human conflict, accompanied by the music of the duo RaaDie.

But it's not just the dance theater that attracts viewers. At the Schiller Theater Rudolstadt you can experience the play “Molière – the Imaginary Dead Man”, an amusing comedy by Nona Fernández in which Molière himself plays the leading role. Here he meets his partner in the afterlife after pretending to be dead. The piece, which humorously deals with the themes of theater, legacy and influence, is described as funny and fast-paced, which critic Ulrike Kern particularly emphasizes. The next performances will take place on November 1st and November 15th.

Further cultural highlights

An exciting play awaits visitors in the puppet theater in Meiningen: “A Murder is Announced”, based on a story by Agatha Christie. Miss Marple, the famous detective, solves a mysterious death on an estate. Staged by the talented Lehmann and Wenzel, the three-person puppet ensemble impresses with wit and joy of playing. The performance will take place on November 23rd at 7:30 p.m.

The cultural program in Erfurt is rounded off with the musical theater “I want to live”, which was developed as a moving monodrama by Mario Pagotto. The play deals with the fate of Daphne, who is turned into a tree, and also addresses the pressing issues of sexual harassment in theater circles. Here modern music is combined with contemporary dance, which promises another exciting date on November 29th.

World leader in beef production

Parallel to the cultural events, a significant trend is emerging in the beef industry. The U.S. continues to be the largest producer of high-quality grain-fed beef for both domestic and export markets, according to the USDA. However, the industry is heavily dependent on feed prices, which can influence production capacities. The beef industry is divided into two main sectors: cow-calf operations and cattle feeders.

Additionally, there are worrying reports of a decline in U.S. beef production as the industry faces both challenges and increasing demand. An insight into the market decline is provided by bauernfarm. USDA research shows that U.S. beef imports are likely to increase through 2024, marking an interesting turning point in the industry's evolution.

Whether on stage or in business, there is a lot to observe and learn during this exciting time.
