Weimar shows strength: Breitengüßbach suffers second defeat!

Things got hot in the Hans-Jung-Halle today: TSV Tröster Breitengüßbach hosted the undefeated team from Culture City Weimar. Unfortunately, the team led by head coach Völkl had to accept a painful defeat - the game ended with 75:95. One more reason to prepare better next time and keep up your fighting spirit, because the table situation is becoming more and more pressing.

The hall was well filled when the two teams met. After the first few minutes, things looked promising for the Breitengüßbachers - a balanced start with a score of 6:8 after four minutes. But Weimar quickly showed what they could do. After just six minutes they were already leading 9:19 as they consistently took advantage of the hosts' mistakes. The guests sank six three-point throws in the first quarter and collected a total of 28 points, while Breitengüßbach stayed in the game thanks to Rümer, Trummeter and Bauer and only went into the first quarter break with a lead of 20:28.

A race to catch up without success

In the second quarter, after initial difficulties, the Breitengüßbachers showed improved defense and only allowed Weimar 16 points. Little by little they fought their way up and made it 30:32 in the 13th minute. But Weimar countered. Through Lang, Bader and Brown they pulled away to 33:41, so it was only 37:44 at halftime.

After the break, things initially went better for the hosts, who were able to reduce the score to 51:53. But Weimar countered again and pulled away again until the third quarter break, the score was 60:67. Even though Jebens hit a three-pointer in the final period, Weimar didn't let up and laid the foundation for the final success with a 14-0 run. Five minutes before the end the game was decided, with the score at 63:81 the Breitengüßbachers could only achieve cosmetic results.

A humble look at the table

The defeat means that Breitengüßbach have now slipped to third place in the table and are struggling with two defeats in a row, which increases the pressure on the team. The game's top scorer was Jebens with 22 points, followed by Trummeter (18), Dippold (16) and Lorber (13). It remains to be seen how the team reacts to these setbacks and whether they can develop their full potential again in the coming games.

For Weimar, on the other hand, things are going well, they remain undefeated and continue to confidently lead the table. In basketball, the next game day is always crucial, and hope for a change in the fate of the Breitengüßbachers should not be lost.

Viewers can already look forward to the next match, where the team will surely be determined to eradicate their mistakes and get back on the road to success. The fans are in demand – come along and support our boys in the upcoming matches!
