Circus magic in Speyer: Children show their skills in a big appearance!

The Bellissima children's and youth circus is preparing for its premiere of the event "What a circus". This impressive show takes place under the large dome of the circus tent in Butenschönstraße 6. Several performances are planned on Saturday, June 14th, at 11 a.m. and on Sunday, June 15th, at 2 p.m. Further performances will follow on Saturday, June 28th and on Sunday, June 29th.

The dress rehearsal of the large event already shows the high performance of the approximately 120 children between the ages of 6 and 13, who work on the preparations with a lot of enthusiasm and commitment. Under the direction of head coach Jason Ioannidis, who took on Chris Murawski's task in January 2023, various artistic performances were practiced. Ioannidis, who enjoyed three years of artist training in Canada and appeared on international stages, pursues the goal of combining the Varieté group more closely with the pre-variety group and achieving more participation in festivals.

diverse performances and individual coaching

The children of Bellissima show a variety of tricks that range from unicycling, acrobatics, to spectacular performances with rings and towels. They are also supported in the design of their appearances by a local hairdressing company that completes costumes and ensures make-up. The circus project not only promotes the physical skills of the young participants, but also contributes to the development of important social and cognitive skills, such as rondelli

Due to circus training, the children not only improve their motor skills, but also experience appreciation through community work and the support of their colleagues. These factors are crucial for the success of numerous circus projects and strengths trust as well as teamwork among the participants. The offers are therefore not only entertaining, but also pedagogically valuable.

challenges and financial support

Nevertheless, the circus also faces challenges. High energy costs due to new gas heating and the elaborate maintenance of the tent require financial support. Refurbishment of the sanitary facilities is also necessary. Despite a monthly contribution of around 45 euros, which the association does not want to adapt, additional help is sought to cover the running costs. The tickets for the demonstrations cost 16 euros, reduced 8 euros. These are available by email to info@zirkusbellissima.de.

The Bellissima project is also part of a larger program that wants to improve the educational opportunities of children and adolescents, especially from disadvantaged conditions. The supporting program "Culture makes you strong. Alliance for education" promotes such educational projects until 2027 and aims to strengthen cultural education and promote social integration, such as Circus-Variety explained.

With offers that promote inclusion and diversity, the circus works on a respectful cooperation and contributes to conveying democratic values and understanding of community. The children are actively involved in the decision -making process and thus experience a strengthening of their self -confidence.
