A weekend full of diversity: flea markets and pride celebrations in Halle!
On September 6th, 2025, Halle (Saale) will offer a fireworks display of events. From flea markets to family celebrations to the exciting start of Pride Weeks, the city becomes a creative venue.
The weekend starts promisingly with one Flea market and a children's clothing exchange in the Halle Messe from 9 a.m. You can also browse for treasures on Pfälzer Straße near the New Apostolic Church on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., while another children's flea market will take place in the Holy Cross Community on Gütchenstraße from 10 a.m. At the same time, a family festival will take place at the Seeben playground from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Pride Weeks start with a big crowd
The focus is particularly on the opening of the Pride Weeks, which is carried out at 12 p.m. by hoisting the rainbow flags in front of the town hall. Mayor Dr. Alexander Vogt will open the event and thus send a clear signal for diversity. These celebrations are not only intended for LGBTQ+ people, but invite all citizens to stand up for an open society.
On Sunday, Christopher Street Day (CSD) will begin with a demonstration starting at 12 p.m. on the market square. The CSD motto “On the barricades, mine!” stands for commitment and visibility in times of social challenges. Organized by various groups, including AIDS-Hilfe Halle/Sachsen-Anhalt Süd, the CSD's demands are aimed at more security, legal equality and better health care. Pride Weeks lasts until September 20th and offers a full program of events, lectures and discussion evenings.
A weekend full of diversity
Saturday brings many more attractions: The “Halle plays” event on the Hallmarkt from 10 a.m., the Neustadt Festival from 10:30 a.m. and the parade to mark the 100th anniversary of the Zscherben fire department. The anniversary celebration of Halle's workshops for the disabled follows in the afternoon, before a concert in the Diakoniewerk church at 3 p.m. provides musical entertainment.
In the evening, the people of Halle are invited to come to the clothes swap party at the Peißnitzhaus. This event promises not only new wardrobe, but also an eco-friendly way to refresh your closet.
The weekend is rounded off by a colorful program, with further flea markets and festivals on Sunday, including the Genzmer Brückenfest and a family afternoon at Giebichenstein Castle. From 6 p.m. there will also be exciting events about the lunar eclipse in the planetarium, followed by a traditional park festival in Pestalozzi Park.
