Federal Police secured knives and pepper sprays in Essen's stations
on the Pentecost weekend, the federal police carried out strict controls in the main train stations in Essen and Recklinghausen and found dangerous objects. During the search of a 27-year-old in Recklinghausen, the officials discovered a pocket knife, which led to an administrative offense procedure due to violation of the weapons law. The Syrian citizen could then continue his way after the knife was taken away.
A 23-year-old was also checked in Essen who had a knife with him in a knife sheath. She also received instruction and an administrative offense procedure was initiated against her. These measures are part of the increased security precautions to prevent dangerous objects in the train stations.
