Maientag in Vaihingen: over 50,000 celebrations, police take a positive balance!
After the May Day in Vaihingen an der Enz, the police draw a consistently positive balance: Around 50,000 visitors flocked to the traditional festival until Whit Monday, which, despite occasional capricious weather, remained extremely peaceful. Police chief Hans-Christian Hecker praised the jointly developed security concept, which was demonstrably successful. "Visitors and emergency services experienced the Maientag in its best form," said Hecker.
The intensive preparation of the police and city administration ensured increased security measures, including better visible presence of the forces and strict controls on knife ban zones. There were no noteworthy violations of the approximately 100 checks. Only two alcoholic drivers and some traffic administrative offenses were registered. The security concept was well received by the festival visitors and significantly increased their feeling of security.
