Classic without Borders” festival: music enjoyment for everyone in Frankfurt!

It starts in a few weeks: The “Classic without Borders” festival will transform Frankfurt (Oder) and the neighboring city of Słubice into a venue for classical music and unforgettable sound experiences from August 3rd to 30th, 2025. Under the motto of the international open-air summer festival, music lovers can look forward to a varied program that offers several highlights.

The festival is known for its top-class concerts that take place in the picturesque parks of Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice. A total of eight concerts will be spread over five and a half weekends, with a musical crossover that combines chamber music, contemporary interpretations and original arrangements. The musical highlights include film music from great masterpieces such as “E.T.”, “Schindler's List”, as well as compositions by Mozart, Beethoven and the modern icon Alicia Keys. Thousands of visitors are expected to enjoy these unique sounds.

A celebration for the whole family

The opening ceremony on August 3rd starts at 11 a.m. with the Gorzów Philharmonic Orchestra, while the finale of the festival will be celebrated on August 30th at 7 p.m. with a large symphonic final concert. On stage are musicians from the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt and the Philharmonic Orchestra Zielona Góra, conducted by Howard Griffiths. The Polish violinist Maria Machowska will also demonstrate her skills. The concert promises to be an exciting conclusion full of emotions and sounds.

There is also a special program for younger concertgoers. On August 23rd there will be a children's program in Gertraudenpark with Malte Arkona and Katarzyna Wasiak, which will certainly bring a lot of joy. And the best thing is: Admission to all events is free, and donations to the newly founded organization Frankfurt-Słubice Doppeltschön e.V. are of course welcome.

Culinary delights and spectacular park tours

In addition to the music, the festival also provides culinary highlights. Visitors are invited to bring their own picnic blankets and baskets and can also enjoy a selection of on-site dining options. For those who don't just want to enjoy the sounds of the festival, there are professional park tours after the Sunday concerts to get to know the beauty of the surroundings better.

The “Classic without Borders” festival is supported by Brandenburg's Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke and Marshal von Lubuskie. The state of Brandenburg, the city of Frankfurt (Oder), the IMD Labor Oderland and the Sparkasse Oder-Spree are behind this extraordinary cultural event, which not only makes the hearts of music lovers beat faster, but also further connects the cities of Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice.
