The summer of 2025 brings a very special highlight for triathlon fans in Halle: The 34th Stadtwerke Halle Triathlon is scheduled for Sunday, August 10th. This event will be held in downtown Halle and promises exciting moments for both active athletes and spectators.
The route is spectacular in places: the swimming route leads through the Saale river, which creates an additional challenge thanks to the natural current. tri2b reports that the athletes start on a 750 meter long course, which begins with a water start. Then it's off to the cycling course, which leads through the popular Halle-Saale loop - a circuit that can be ridden up to six times, depending on the competition distance.
Versatile competition distances
Spectators can look forward to a selection of competitions. Participants can take on the sprint distance of 750m swimming, 20km cycling and 5km running or opt for the Fitness Triathlon, which includes 400m swimming, also 20km cycling and 5km running. Children and young people don't miss out either: special competitions are offered for younger athletes.
The event's prominent participants are a real treat: marathon double Olympic champion Waldemar Cierpinski and swimming world record holder Paul Biedermann have announced their participation. The event organization has big plans: spectator friendliness and a good atmosphere are the top priority. The final competitions of the regional league for men and women also round off the program. Teams of four compete here in the women's, men's and masters categories.
