Halle: New dialogue series Join & Have a Say” starts in August!
What is brewing in Halle? The HALLIANZ for Diversity is starting a new dialogue series under the motto “Join & Have a Say”. This initiative aims to bring people with different experiences and life stories together and will take place from August to October 2025. The opening of this exciting series is planned for August 7, 2025, 5 p.m., in the FreiFeld community park. A total of several dates are planned in various locations around the city until October 27, 2025. These events are all about the topics of coexistence in the neighborhood, safety in the neighborhood and road traffic.
HALLIANZ has the partner Volunteer Agency Halle (Saale) on board and can rely on the support of various hosts. Entry is free and drinks and snacks are also provided. These are the most important dates in the dialogue series:

A particular focus is on encounters between refugees and local citizens. Julia Burghardt from the WELCOME meeting group emphasizes how important exchange is in order to find common languages and break down barriers. Hani Menzaljy from Solidarity City Halle also sees the creation of an inclusive city as the first step towards an open society. Young people also play a crucial role: Samuel Knorre and Thomas Sedlatschek, both members of the HALLIANZ youth jury, pool creative energy and invite young people to develop projects together. This not only creates a space for exchange, but also for active participation.
Importance of inclusion
Another central topic of the dialogue series is inclusion, which is increasingly being discussed. Rouqaya Alkhateeb, who is active at Sprachbrücke Halle e.V., speaks of a regular cooking meeting that is intended to break up isolation. The HALLIANZ for Diversity also brings in local supporters such as Ulrike Rühlmann from the Halle Community Foundation, who describes the voice of the community as essential for democracy. Commitment against the extreme right and for an open society is just as important, as Valentin Hacken emphasizes as a member of the monitoring committee.
In addition, it is important not to lose sight of the area of mental health. Psychological stress is an issue that affects many people – including volunteers. According to the Paritätischen, around 30% of the population in Germany seeks psychological help every year. It is crucial not to see mental illnesses as an exclusion criterion for voluntary services, but rather to develop sensitivity in dealing with these issues. Heroically shows how volunteers can be supported by giving them an open ear and addressing offers of help.
