Information evening on severe disabilities: Everything important for those affected!
On Monday, October 20, 2025, everything at the Frankfurt (Oder) nursing base will revolve around the important topic of severe disability. The event entitled “Severe Disability Part 2 – From the Requirements to the Determination Notice” will open at 3:00 p.m. The speaker of the afternoon is the State Office for Social Affairs and Care Frankfurt (Oder), which guides the participants through the jungle of bureaucratic requirements and explains the award procedure for determining the degree of severe disability. It is also possible to visit the housing advice center on the second floor of the care center.
The event is limited to 15 people, which is why pre-registration is required by Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at the latest. Anyone interested can contact the nursing support center Frankfurt (Oder) by phone on 0335 500 969 63 or 0335 500 969 64 or by email at frankfurt-oder@pflegestuetzstellen-brandenburg.de. The implementation is funded by the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Integration and Consumer Protection of the State of Brandenburg and the Brandenburg Pact for Care.
Determination notice and severely disabled person's certificate
What exactly is the assessment notice? Loud enableme This represents the official certificate of the existence of a disability. It is issued after checking all documents, certificates and reports and contains, among other things, the degree of disability (GdB) and the health characteristics of the applicant. In order to receive a notice of assessment, the GdB must be at least 20. If the GdB is lower, neither ID nor notice will be issued. Interestingly, the GdB is determined in degrees of ten from 20 to 100 and also takes multiple disabilities into account by forming an overall GdB.
Since 2015, severely disabled ID cards have been available nationwide in practical credit card format. These cards are usually valid for five years and may need to be extended. If you have a GdB of at least 50, you have the option of applying for a severely disabled person's ID card, but this does not happen automatically - the issue must be applied for separately.
Disadvantages and rights of people with disabilities
What about compensation for disadvantages? After disabled commissioner.de, people with disabilities can claim certain compensation for disadvantages, which depends on the GdB determined. There are special signs that document further impairments. These symbols include, for example, the “G” for significant impairment of the ability to move in traffic or the “Bl” for blind people. The GdB is not just a number, it also opens doors to helpful support and funding.
The legal provisions are clear: an application can always be rejected if the GdB is below 20. In such cases, negative notices can be issued, which also contain information on legal remedies for objection proceedings. Applicants have one month to lodge an appeal and can seek legal advice if necessary.
The upcoming event at the nursing base in Frankfurt (Oder) is an excellent opportunity to find out about these topics and to gain clarity about your own rights and entitlements. It is particularly important for people with disabilities to be well informed and prepared. If you have any questions, don't miss this opportunity!
