Young people shape the future: Looking for ideas for the center in Halle!

An exciting event will take place in the heart of Halle (Saale) on August 22, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Children and Youth Office of the City of Halle (Saale) and the Hallianz for Diversity invite young people between the ages of 14 and 27 to express their ideas, wishes and concerns about the planned future center for German unity and European transformation. The aim of this meeting is to bring the perspectives of young people into consideration for the future development of the center. Participation is free, and drinks and snacks are provided to ensure your physical well-being. If you would like to take part, you should register by email by August 20th. In the context of architecture and citizen participation, the motto of Architecture Day 2025 is also important: “Building diversity”. On this day, an exhibition of the competition works will take place in the Halle Saline, where the team from the Future Center will be involved. The Saxony-Anhalt Chamber of Architects emphasizes how important sustainable building is in current times. The planned building complex offers 14,000 square meters of usable space and takes into account various urban development and traffic challenges. The jury will decide at the end of April 2025 which team of architects will win the contract, while entry to the exhibition is free. Another exciting contribution to the discussion about urban development is the upcoming “YOU transform cities” conference, which will take place in Heidelberg from April 3rd to 5th, 2025. Young people, specialists and interested parties are invited to work together to develop ideas for sustainable urban development. The event is supported by various organizations, including proBiene gGmbH and the Ökosocial Forum Vienna. A varied program with workshops and interactive formats is on the agenda. This initiative aims to present and discuss successful concepts in sustainable youth work.
