Children discover the art of paper production in Halle-Neustadt!
In Halle-Neustadt, tinkering and discovered! As part of the summer academy, the AWO children's pressure workshop organizes an exciting campaign that extends by June 25, 2025. Under the expert guidance of workshop manager Andreas Schröder, children of grades 1 to 4 can experience the world of paper up close. Not only is it, but also learned - and that is really fun!
In the center of the project, the traditional technique of paper production is with a floating drawing sieve. Children can become active themselves and draw paper made of cellulose. In addition to the practical craft, the historical aspects are not neglected. You will get to know the history of paper production and get insights into topics such as watermarks and their meaning.
creative work and storytelling
Another highlight of the program is the presentation of the old craftsmanship of marble, which goes back to the 16th century. Here the little artists can let their creativity run free and get to know different types of bookbinding. The "paper museum" is manufactured by the children as part of the project, whereby they also discover writing and letters through printing and bookbinding techniques.
The AWO Children's Printing Workshop in Halle is the perfect place for this creative project. In addition to direct access to the materials and techniques, there is a lot of space for the child's imagination. The children's artistic skills are encouraged, which also sharpens their fine motor skills and historical awareness. If we look into the future, you can say: there is truly something for the latest generations!
