Creative diversity in Halle: Giebichenstein Castle delights visitors!

What's going on in Halle? The Burg Giebichenstein Art University is experiencing an exciting weekend, opening its annual exhibition on July 14, 2025. Hundreds of visitors flocked to the university campus to admire the creative work of the design and art students. From painting to sculpture to exciting patterns in product design – the diversity of disciplines is impressive. DubiStadt reports that the works on display include delicate objects, socially critical installations and pioneering products, all of which focus on the topic of sustainability and social relevance.

Particular attention has been paid to innovative designs such as biodegradable glasses and headphones made from alternative materials. Two projects implement the open source idea: A modular toothbrush made from 3D printed parts and an individually adjustable finger prosthesis show how creative design can break down barriers. These projects are characterized by ease of manufacture, low cost and the possibility of self-assembly.

Creatives in the spotlight

The students were available to those interested with explanations of their works and gave insights into their creative processes. The exhibition not only provides a platform for talent showcase but also helps promote entrepreneurship. The Designhaus Halle has been supporting young graduates in their step into self-employment for 15 years. 136 start-ups have already been supported here, and an impressive two thirds of the creative people stayed in Halle.

The design house even provides the newly qualified artists and designers with their first orders from companies in Germany. The designs extend to exciting projects for the new Bergakademie Freiberg campus and a boutique hotel. “Burg students” have established themselves as sought-after creative problem solvers in business and show that training at this university offers valuable career prospects.

Visitors from all over the world

The annual exhibition not only offers an insight into the creative work of the students, but also gives the opportunity to get in touch with the upcoming talents. The exhibition opened its doors from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and was of interest not only to art lovers, but also to anyone interested in the latest trends in design and art. Information about the various study programs and individual portfolio advice is available in the study information center.

A free shuttle service between the different locations ensures that all visitors can easily reach the exhibition. Further details about the annual exhibition will be published on the university's website. Those interested can also use the hashtags on social media#BurgHalleand#annualexhibition2024inform.

Overall, the art school's annual exhibition is a highlight in the cultural calendar and reinforces the importance of creativity and innovation in today's world. Definitely worth a visit!
