"Looking into the sun" was created in the summer of 2023 in Arendsee, a small village in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel, where the support of the local population was decisive. The villagers not only helped with props, but also translated parts of the script into Low German. Schilinski expressed her thanks to the residents of Neulingen, who played a central role in the creation of the film.
