Short-term closures of the L 162: Rock loosening blasting from July 21st!
Short-term closures of the L 162 from July 21, 2025 in Halle (Saale) due to rock loosening blasting for the A 143 western bypass.

Short-term closures of the L 162: Rock loosening blasting from July 21st!
In the coming months, State Road 162 between Brachwitz and Gimritz will be a tranquil but temporarily interrupted local area of contact. The short-term closures will begin on July 21, 2025 and are expected to last until the end of the year. This measure is necessary to create space for rock loosening blasting in the area of the future A 143, such as HallLife reported.
These are closures that will only last a few minutes and will affect both directions. These safety precautions are necessary because the blasting work will take place in the intersection area between the L 162 and the new route. Starting next week, preparatory drilling will begin to determine the blasting conditions and prepare a vibration forecast. Three test blasts are also planned for the week starting July 21st.
Safety precautions and further steps
After the evaluation of these test blasts, ongoing rock loosening blasts will be carried out twice a week between 5 and 7 p.m. During this time it will be necessary to switch the traffic lights to all red. This is done to ensure the safety of all road users when the intersection is in the restricted area. No special preparations are required for the locations of Friedrichsschwerz and Gimritz as they are outside the blasting area.
Responsibility for this work lies with DEGES German Unit Trunk Road Planning and Construction GmbH. This type of infrastructure intervention will both work on future transport connectivity and ensure that the environment remains safe, while at the same time using the latest technology.
Expertise in rock printing
The company that carries out the blasting work specializes in blasting solutions and has extensive experience. It relies not only on highly qualified specialists, but also on the most modern equipment to carry out all the necessary measures efficiently and safely. The options range from drilling and blasting work to rock stabilization, which ensures a high level of flexibility and safety, even in alpine regions or with special requirements in property and traffic route construction.
The effects of the planned construction measures are noticeable, but they are a necessary evil for the infrastructure development in our region. We can only hope that the residents can adapt to the temporary restrictions and the work will be completed quickly.
