83-year-old by clever distrust of fraud!

Gifhorn, Deutschland - An 83-year-old woman from the region showed her quick thinking when attempted by phone fraud. On Tuesday morning, she received a call from a supposed "Jürgen Lauterbach", who claimed that she had won 49,000 euros in a competition. But the exciting profit was only an excuse to push them to pay "fees" with Paysafe cards. However, the woman was not wrong and immediately contacted the local police, which she informed about the fraudulent stitch.

Such fraud attempts are often directed against older people, with the perpetrators being specifically acting as notaries or lawyers. They use technical tricks such as fake telephone numbers and put the called people under pressure to force money transfers or the purchase of prepaid cards. The police warn: Never prepayment for alleged profits! If in doubt, the police should always be informed - rather ask too much than to losing the money irrevocably.
