Attention, Troisdorf! Fraudsters make a name for themselves with fake SMS!

On Sunday, June 1st, a young woman from Troisdorf was the victim of an unscrupulous fraud. Around noon she received an SMS that apparently came from a popular online payment service. In it she was asked to follow a link - a dangerous click that led her to a fake website.

There she clicked on further links and experienced the shock of her life: suddenly a high four -digit amount was debited from her account! The police urgently warn against disclosing personal data or bank information and advises to interrupt the internet connection immediately if suspected. Those affected should report the incident immediately at the next police station. Be careful!
