Fraud as an insurance agent: Seniors in danger!

On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, a senior citizen was victim of a sneaky fraud in Saarlandstrasse. An unknown perpetrator pretended to be an insurance agent and managed to get into the elderly lady's apartment. During the short visit, the senior woman handed over her bank card, but without the associated pin. Fortunately, the woman was able to react in good time and block her card before it could be debit from her account.

The Rheinpfalz police warn on such door -to -door fraudsters and give important tips for safety: check visitors exactly, only open with barrel bars and do not leave any strangers into your apartment. If you have any doubt, you should call the authority to check the legitimacy of officials. In addition, it is advised not to accept payments or gifts at the front door and not to make any business without prior announcement. These steps can help protect yourself from further fraud attempts.
