On Monday evening, May 26, 2025, a spectacular fire broke out in an apartment building in Sankt Blasia around 7:30 p.m. Over 100 firefighters and more than 20 vehicles were mobilized to combat the flames, with the extinguishing work lasted until late at night. Fortunately, a person was not injured. The eleven affected residents were temporarily accommodated by friends or in other accommodations, while the cause of the fire remains unclear.

The police have taken over the investigation, and initial estimates assume property damage of over 500,000 euros. In addition, an unpleasant scene took place when a person disrupted and insulted the rescue workers during the mission, which led to an initiated criminal proceedings. The fire brigade, the police and emergency services of the German Red Cross and the Technical Relief Agency were strongly involved in the situation.
