on Sunday, June 8th, 2025, there was a dramatic accident on the A33 when a 33-year-old man from Spelle skidded his Skoda Kodiaq. In wet road conditions, he collided with a VW Polo around 5:10 p.m. after a black panel van, possibly a Fiat, cut him when changing lanes. The Skoda driver was unharmed, but the driver of the VW Polo was seriously injured.

The consequences of the accident were violent: the highway had to be completely closed for rescue and cleanup. Fortunately, the motorway police were able to release the left lane again after just an hour, and around 7:10 p.m. the entire route was accessible again. The police are now investigating the dangerous driving behavior of the panel car driver.
