On Friday afternoon, around 5:45 p.m., a terrifying traffic accident occurred on the federal road 401 in Surwold. A 30-year-old BMW driver who was traveling towards Surwold overlooked an oncoming motorcyclist when turning left into the Heuweg. The violent collision in the intersection area led to serious injuries to the 61-year-old motorcyclist, while the driver was luckily unharmed.

The police estimate the property damage at around 11,000 euros. Due to the accident, the B401 had to be temporarily blocked, which caused disruptions in traffic flow at short notice. The investigation into the course of the accident was initiated.
