On Friday, May 30, 2025, the police in Schmalkalden was called for a brutal incident in Hedwigsweg. Witnesses watched a man who struck, pushed and kicked a woman several times. However, the alarmed officials could neither find the perpetrator nor the victim at the scene.

Despite the fast intervention by the police, an advertisement for assault was issued. The identity of the people involved remains unclear. The police are now hoping for hints from the population and asks the unknown man and the damaged woman to report under the file number 0138204/2025 to get light into the dark.
