City of Halle celebrates Lara Rüter: Kranichsteiner Literature Prize 2025!

The city of Halle (Saale) once again has a reason to celebrate today: Lara Rüter was awarded the Kranichstein Literary Promotion Prize 2025. The price from German Literature Fund is awarded, is considered one of the most important prizes for young talent in the German-speaking region. Rüter receives the award for her impressive volume of poetry “amoretten in netzen”, which was published in 2024 by the Heidelberg publishing house Das Wunderhorn.

The jury recognized Rüter's work as one of the most remarkable poetry debuts of recent years. Her poems are not only form-conscious and full of allusions, but also reflect current discourses in a confident way. Rüter's lyrics are full of humor and complement the themes of grief and loss without any voyeuristic approaches. Interesting motifs such as point mutations, coral bleaching and extinct animal species, as well as an artistic examination of the Roman poet Ovid, characterize the volume of poems.

Insights into the time of the town clerk

Lara Rüter is one of the creative minds who will work as city clerk in Halle (Saale) until the end of September 2025. In addition to creative work, she runs creative writing workshops in schools.
