Stadtbad Halle: Farewell with beats and free entry days!
On June 20, 2025, the Halle public pool will open its doors for a special occasion. After years of use, the popular swimming pool will close on June 21, 2025 for extensive renovation work, which primarily concerns the swimming pool technology, showers and the creation of barrier-free access. The Förderverein Zukunft Stadtbad Halle e. V. and the Stadtwerke Halle invite all bathing enthusiasts to the celebratory “Abbaden” from 3:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Both report this Hall indicator as well as the city administration halle.de.
A very special highlight will be the musical accompaniment to the event. From 5:30 p.m., DJ Lea Legrand (Franziska Stübgen) will create the right atmosphere for the last swim in the city pool with a mixture of electronic sounds and warm beats. The first five hours of “Abbaden” are free for visitors, not only in the women's and men's hall, which is open until 8 p.m., but also with a diverse supporting program.
A festive farewell
The celebration of the farewell bathing also includes a sales campaign by the support association, which offers city pool candles and money boxes from 4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Visitors can capture special memories during a photo session between 8:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., the images of which will be published on the association's website.
The renovation work that will begin after the closure is necessary to meet modern requirements. This includes the historic restoration of the roof, ceilings and wall paint as well as the renewal of the sanitary facilities. The aim is to also increase the energy standards after the renovation, which is supported with funds from the federal program for the energy-related renovation of municipal facilities. The focus here is primarily on climate-neutral heat supply and reducing resource consumption, as can be seen from a statement from the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Construction bmwsb.bund.de.
The anticipation of the “badging away” is great, and the opportunity to say goodbye to the city pool once again attracts many bathers. Kathleen Hirschnitz, one of the organizers, invites everyone to bring personal items such as rubber ducks or bath noodles to underline the special character of the farewell. The municipal pool is more than just a swimming pool; it is a place for encounters and social interaction.
The future closure and the associated renovation work could help ensure that the Halle public pool will soon shine in new splendor and remain a meeting place for generations. Be there and enjoy the last swim in the Halle city pool!
