For the listeners there are also two special encores-Paul Desennes "Tritsch-Tratsch-Polka" and Paul Linckes "Berliner Luft"-according to the Berlin Philharmoniker.
Dudamel, who celebrated his desk debut with the Berlin Philharmonic in 2008, has a close artistic relationship with the famous orchestra. His musical career began in the Venezuelan music training program "El Sistema", where he has headed the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra since he was 18 and has also been conducting the Los Angeles Philharmonic since 2009. From the 2026/27 season, he will also accept the position of the chief conductor at the New York Philharmonic. This end of the season in the Waldbühne will be his fourth time that Dudamel leads this event in the open air, which underlines his special connection to the Philharmonic.
