Heinrichstraße, Gera, Deutschland - In Gera there were two violent clashes between groups of Syrians and Iraqis on June 10 and 11, 2025, which ended with threats and a knife attack. On June 10, a 22- and 25-year-old Syrian and a 21-year-old Iraqi fell into a dispute, with a knife being used. Uninvolved separated the arguments, but the participants fled into a nearby shopping center that was evacuated for an hour. The police were able to grasp the suspects quickly and initiate an investigation.

On the evening of June 11th, the scenario was repeated: three Iraqi men between the ages of 20 and 28 and a 31-year-old Syrian threatened a group of five Syrians and a German woman with a kitchen knife. When the police arrived, the perpetrators fled, but were arrested nearby. The officials discovered that those involved were the same group that was responsible for a police operation the day before. The investigation is ongoing while the police are asking witnesses to report with relevant information.
