On Saturday afternoon, June 7, 2025, there was an accident in Ludwigshafen around 5:45 p.m. when a 43-year-old pedestrian wanted to cross the Kestenbergerweg after buying an ice cream. The man overlooked an approaching car that was driven by a 24-year-old. The impact led to slight to moderate injuries to the pedestrian, which was immediately admitted to a nearby hospital.

In the result, the Kestenbergerweg had to be completely closed between 5:55 p.m. and 7:10 p.m. while the police took up the accident. The traffic situation was tense for some time until the measures were completed.
