In the night of Pentecost Sunday, around 2:28 a.m., there was a serious accident in Oldenburg, caused by a suspected illegal car race. On the city ring, several cars fought a dramatic duel when the 18-year-old driver of a BMW lost control of his vehicle. The car raced through a bush, rammed two street trees and finally crashed into a house wall.

Extreme damage and drama: The BMW came to a standstill on the street, while a pedestrian was slightly injured by flying rubble. The driver's passenger, also 18 years old, was caught in the vehicle and had to be recovered by the fire brigade. He was taken to the hospital seriously injured. The scene of the accident was closed to investigative and cleanup work for several hours. An investigation is now being initiated against the responsible driver and his driver's license has been confiscated.
