fraudsters have struck again and captured around 20,000 euros in the Ludwigsburg and Böblingen counties! In a fraudulent stitch that is known as "quishing", unsuspecting victims were lured into the trap of fake QR codes.

A shocking example: A 63-year-old man from Aidlingen received a cleverly fake letter that seemed to come from his bank. It was told that he had to re-establish his online banking. The whole thing looked credible and plausible-he scanned the QR code and carried out the steps to unknowingly register a cell phone for the fraudsters! In no time at all, the crooks transferred money from his call money account to his checking account and lodged twice almost 10,000 euros!

These perfidious tricks show how important it is to be skeptical-especially with unexpected messages and QR codes!
