On Saturday afternoon, a dramatic accident occurred in Büchig! A 66-year-old pedestrian was hit by a tram around 12:20 p.m. when she crossed a level crossing. According to reports, the woman overlooked the train driving towards Karlsruhe and was hit head -on despite an immediately initiated braking.

The railway dragged the older lady with several meters before it fell to the left into the track bed. The 66-year-old suffered serious injuries in the impact and was immediately taken to a hospital. The police have started the investigation to clarify further details.
