The DRK district association Aalen has introduced a digital offer called "nursing spampel", which facilitates relatives and those in need of care to receive current information about available care places in the region. The care spamp provides a quick overview of the status of nursing places in seven DRK facilities in the Ostalbkreis. Green means that places are available, while red signals that the facility is full, reports the Schwäbische Post .

Before the introduction of this innovative solution, many people had to call facilities several times to find out more about availability. Martin Diemer, an active member of the City Senior Council, was kick -off to the nursing car, who himself gained experience in the search for a care place. Although the nursing guider of the Ostalb district lists a total of 39 inpatient care facilities, only seven are currently recorded in the care traffic light.

Expansion of the care camps

The DRK district association already has plans to expand the care traffic lights in order to include all facilities in the Ostalb district in the future. The online platform enables care facilities to update their capacities themselves, but is currently not used extensively. Participation in the nursing guider Ostalb is voluntary, which means that not all carriers are listed.
